Welcome!
Seems like February is flying by quickly, doesn't it?
This past two weeks have certainly been busy with new clients, new
projects (big surprise, I know), old friends, and a new found confidence.
I've decided to include a bit of a puzzle, a hidden meaning in one of
the sections of this issue. If you get it, email me and let me know!
Enjoy,
Jan

Mind Map: A Blank Map
Uses: Use it as an empty space or template for whatever
brilliant ideas you have in your mind and have never put on paper or
into the world.
Background: I've created a few exercises around this specific
template but I thought it might be helpful for you to have as a
blank template. No instructions necessary.

Feature Article: Creating Space
It is 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb 24th and I'm just starting this issue
of half-baked. And according to my self imposed deadline, I have
approximately four hours to get this issue out the door. Yikes, to say
the least! But it gets even worse.
I have no idea what to write about. I've considered a list of
several different topics. Nothing seems to truly capture my attention.
I think I'm distracted. I've picked up three new clients in the past
two
weeks. This is great news, but at the same time, I wonder if I've lost some
space and freedom.
Sure, clients are great, and I'm the luckiest person in the world!
After all, I hand select every single person and business I work
with. I only choose to work with clients I feel inspired by and truly enjoy.
But for some reason, I'm still unsettled. If I give all my time to my
clients, what time is leftover for ME?
Then I start to think about what I've missed in the meantime.
I haven't talked to my 11 year old niece in several weeks. I've done
only slightly better with my 4 year old niece. And my family, well
my good intentions are barely beyond intentions.
I've come to realize this - I need and
want physical, intellectual, and emotional space. I want space to
create. I want space to think. I want space to read. And certainly,
I want space to enjoy and grow relationships in my life.
That said, I'll get to the end of this article quickly... I need
"space" to do other things or simply nothing at all. :-)
I've come to realize that space is AT LEAST as important as success.
In my life, these must go hand in hand. They must complement each
other, because ultimately they are the same thing to me.
I've learned that no good idea can become reality unless there is
adequate space in my world to create it.
I've learned how often answers and solutions come within the space
of quite time or unrelated activity.
And I've learned how easy it is to be inspired by practically any
human being I meet, by quietly listening and providing a safe SPACE
to be who they truly are.
Simple, I know. Create extra space in your life!
You'll be amazed at what you EXPERIENCE as a result of it.
The artists of the world have it figured out. After all, they often
surround their masterpieces in space don't they?

p.s. Email
me and let me know what you think about this idea...

1) How much more productive would you be
if your standard "work week" was two days, and the weekend was five
days?
2) Today is "02", "24", "04", or some variation depending on your
country of origin. I wonder what 0's, 2's, and 4's means. Any
numerologists out there?
3) I generally read 4 books a month. I just picked up Bang! by
Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval. The book is subtitled "Getting
Your Message Heard in a Noisy World" and looks very interesting. I'll
let you know how it is...
4) Since I started this newsletter, I've noticed that 92.7% (approx)
of the time I order a pizza, it comes out half-baked! Anyone, anyone?

Thanks for reading - see on March 9th!
