Feature Article:
Goals.
Balance. Resolution(s).
Thinking about the upcoming year?
If you haven't already, you will be inundated with well intentioned
advice on how live a more "balanced" life, setting and achieving
goals, and making resolutions for the new year.
I'll make this short. I don't have any pressing holiday parties
today, but I do have a very satisfying life that begs my living.
In a moment of down time, or just because you want to, you might be
interested in an alternative perspective on goals, balance, and
resolutions. Here she goes:
Goals
I used to come up with a manageable list of say 10-20. I would use
the prescribed formula that I learned as a swimmer at about age 14.
I don't do this anymore. Way to much stress. Instead, I have a book
of personal and business goals. Seven or seventy aren't enough. I'm
on my way to creating 5,000+.
This
method has
worked for me
way better than any formula ever did. So, take a look at the
article on 5,000 goals from a
previous issue of Half Baked.
Try this method, then send me fan
email here...
Balance
Yawn, yawn, and more yawns.
I
don't believe in it, per se. Instead I seek to live a perfectly
unbalanced life. For me, it is about being exceptionally happy. And
who is to say that will look like balance to the rest of the world?
If you want more details on this, I invite you to join me in a
teleclass
entitled Creating a Perfectly Unbalanced Life at 1:11 pm on 1/11/05. Ok, so I am in a smarty pants mood,
but I'm happy and self amusing.
Anyway, the fun time makes me really want to do this! (I just
checked my calendar, and I'm free!)
Send me an email here, and I
will provide you the details within the next week.
Resolution(s)
I've made these in the past. Not this year, or well maybe, I'm
not sure. If I make a resolution on not making resolutions, that is
a resolution, isn't it?
Seriously, my intention here is not to skirt the issue altogether.
Instead, I've found myself thinking about "the mother of all
resolutions" in my life. I'll ask you the question I've been asking
myself:
If you could make only one resolution, what would it be?
I'm guessing with only one, it has to be "big enough" to encompass
all the other things, experiences, etc that you want in your life.
As always, please feel free to send me an email or give me a call
and share your resolution with me!

Shorts
1) I'm not sure how, but at night, while I'm sleeping, my cell phone
ear attachment has a party. I know this because the next day the
cord is all knotted up. I did not leave it that way!
2) I ran 14 miles on Sunday and am officially training for marathon #3
in the spring! It was my longest run since 1995.
3) How come UPS or even the USPS (United States Postal Service) can
transfer and deliver my package 1,000 miles in less than 15 hours, but
it takes longer for less complicated transactions?
4) For swimming pool enthusiasts check out

Thanks for reading - see on December 28th!

p.s. pass this along to a friend or colleague. THANKS!
